About Mimi

My name is Myriam but my mother-in-law gave me the loving nickname Mimi, which I am using in this blog. I am a born again believer who has gone through many trials in this life, many by my own choosing! Thanks be to God for His mercies, which are new every morning! Without my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I would be lost! He took me out of the miry bog as King David says in Psalm 40:2 “He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.” And has given me the gift of Eternal Life with Him through the forgiveness of sins (John 3:14-18) I have been a believer for about thirty years but feel more like Paul when he says in Romans 7:24-25a “Wretched men that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Read Romans 7:18:26) My husband is not a believer yet but I continue to pray in the hope that he comes to a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God, my three grown children are saved. This is not because of me, for I am a sinner, but because our Lord so desired to call them as His own. I pray that through this blog we can pray, share and encourage each other in Christ until that wonderful day when we see HIM face to face. I am using the English Standard Version Bible for this blog.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Thank you very much for your prayers and for speaking out agains this terrible legislation that would force Christian colleges to compromise their position on homosexuals.

The Holy Spirit’s Work

Dear Brothers and Sisters, keep praying and asking our God to restore to us the joy we had when we first became believers. In Psalm 51:11-12 we read, “Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”

The Holy Spirit is the Helper who teaches us and always guides us to our Lord Jesus Christ.  In John 14:26 Jesus tells us, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

In the Valley of Vision devotional we read about the Spirit’s work.  Here is a portion of this wonderful prayer, “. . . Take the things of Christ and show them to my soul; Through thee may I daily learn more of his love, grace, compassion, faithfulness, beauty; Lead me to the cross and show me his wounds, the hateful nature of evil, the power of Satan; . . . Help me to find in his death the reality and immensity of his love. . . O Holy Spirit, deepen in me these saving lessons.  Write them upon my heart, that my walk be sin-loathing, sin-fleeing, Christ-loving; And suffer no devil’s device to beguile or deceive me.”

Jesus is the Light of the World

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

What a wonderful reminder that our Lord Jesus Christ is the light of this world, and is the light we have in our hearts for others to see.

In John 8:12 we read, “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

In Revelation 21:23 we read about Heaven, “And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.”

Charles Spurgeon’s Morning by Morning devotional has the following on how are going to be in Heaven, “God’s people are a hidden people, but when Christ receives His people into heaven, He will touch them with the wand of His own love, and change them into the image of His manifested glory. They were poor and wretched, but what a transformation! They were stained with sin, but one touch of His finger, and they are bright as the sun, and clear as crystal. Oh! what a manifestation! All this proceeds from the exalted Lamb. Whatever there may be of effulgent splendour, Jesus shall be the centre and soul of it all. Oh! to be present and to see Him in His own light, the King of kings, and Lord of lords!

“Light of the World” performed by Matt Redman

Prayer, Oh Dear Lord, what wonderful hope we have in You!  Thank You for choosing us and saving us, even though we do not deserve it, so that we can spend eternity glorifying You, the King of kings, and Lord of lords! Thank You for being the Light of this dark world and the only hope that we can truly trust.  Help us to keep our eyes always on You, our SAVIOR, Amen

Christian Behavior

Dear Brothers and Sister,

We have missed the mark so many times by not doing what the Word of God commands us to do.  May our Lord forgive us.

Let us read His precious Word to know what He desires for us.

In Titus 3:1-11 we read what the Apostle Paul teaches concerning Christian behavior,

1 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

“This is my Desire” performed by Michael W.Smith

Prayer, Sweet Lord, without You we cannot be what You desire “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3:23. May Your Holy Spirit keep guiding us to do all the good works You have for us and may our lives always glorify You until You call us Home.  In You only we trust, Amen

Always Pray

The dictionary says that prayer is, “a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God.”

Doing an internet search I fond out that “Prayer is not meditation or passive reflection; it is direct address to God. It is the communication of the human soul with the Lord who created the soul. Prayer is the primary way for the believer in Jesus Christ to communicate his emotions and desires with God and to fellowship with God.”

In 1 Thessalonians 5:17 the Apostle Paul tells us, “pray without ceasing,”

Taken from NIV The Journey Bible

From Matthew 26:39-46

You will face deep anguish in your life — everyone does. When that happens, you can do what Jesus did: pray. Pray hard, pray deep, pray honestly, pray out all your feelings. Pray until you sweat and cry and fall down in exhaustion. Pray with others. Pray alone. Pray as long as it takes — and then pray longer. Pray because nothing else works, and keep praying when it doesn’t seem to work. Pray because Jesus prayed, pray because you want to pray, pray because you don’t want to pray. Pray out loud, pray quietly. Pray whenever you think about it, pray instead of just thinking about it. Pray when you walk and when you drive and when you wake up and when you go to sleep. Pray before you forget. Pray right now.

“Let us Pray” by Steven Curtis Chapman

Prayer, Dearest Lord, please show us how to pray; how to communicate with our Father who loves us.  Please give us a heart to always pray for every person that comes into our lives, pray for every situation and pray for everything else You wants us to pray about.  Help us to know You better by being faithful in reading Your loving Word daily.  In Your precious name we pray, Amen

Psalm 23 Prayer

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I posted the following prayer for work a few years ago.  Praying it will bless you today!

The Lord is my real boss, and I shall not want.

He gives me peace, when chaos is all around me.

He gently reminds me to pray and do all things without

murmuring and complaining.

He reminds me that He is my source and not my job.

He restores my sanity every day and guides my decisions

that I might honor Him in all I do.

Even though I face absurd amounts of e-mails, system

crashes, unrealistic deadlines, budget cutbacks, gossiping

co-workers, discriminating supervisors and an aging body

that doesn’t cooperate every morning, I still will not stop —

for He is with me! His presence, His peace, and His power

will see me through.

His retirement plan beats any 401K there is!

When it’s all said and done, I’ll be working for Him a whole lot

longer and for that,

“Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart”

Prayer, Dearest Lord, help me always give You thanks for all You do for me all the time.  Help me to trust You in all areas of my life so that I may glorify You. Please forgive for all the times I have failed to do what You desire. Help me remember that I can do all things through You who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13) Thank You for providing a job that I enjoy.  In Your precious name I pray, Amen

California Bill

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We know that Christianity is not the majority in this country any more.  Many forces are very much against what we stand for, which is what our Lord’s Word commands. There is a California Bill 1146 that “threatens the ability of faith-based institutions across the Golden State to function according to their religious beliefs.” Please read the following blogs and prayerfully consider what you should do.

Hearing and Doing what the Word Says

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Prayerfully, let us read His loving Word and ask Him what His perfect will for us is. Let us decide NOT to follow this fallen world which wants to drag us down with all the filthiness which tends to entice us; so wired but sad!  Please forgive us sweet Lord!

In the book of James 1:19-27 we read,

19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. 21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. 24 For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. 25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

26 If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person’s religion is worthless. 27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.

Prayer, Oh Lord with all the turmoils that continually happen in this world, please help us to keep our eyes on You so we can be part of the solution not the mess.  It is so easy to get tangled in what other say or do against us.  Please show us what Your good and perfect will for us and may we always do what is right on your eyes.  May revival start with us!  In You only we trust, Amen

Happy Fourth of July!

Brothers and Sisters,

Let us celebrate this Independence Day by thanking those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom! To all of you who have served, are serving and will serve, WE ARE GRATEFUL!

The following YouTube video is about asking “God bless the USA” which we should pray; but I also think The USA ought to Bless God by coming back to HIM instead of removing Him from our schools, our government and our lives. Oh Dear Lord we ask for forgiveness for not having been faithful.

“God Bless the U.S.A” performed by “Lee Greenwood

Prayer, Dear Lord and Savior, we ask for forgiveness because we “all have sinned” (Romans 5:12) and fallen short of Your glory. Lord please help us pray to always do what is right in Your sight, as 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” May Your reign in our lives and the USA always! Amen

Warning from the Word of God

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We need to be careful about buying the lies of this world because they do not come from our Lord, they come from the deceiver, the father of lies.

In 1 John 2:18-27

18 Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. 20 But you have been anointed by the Holy One, and you all have knowledge. 21 I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also. 24 Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise that he made to us—eternal life.

26 I write these things to you about those who are trying to deceive you. 27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.

In 2 John 1:7 we read, ” For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.

We need to go back to being One Nation under God, but the changes start with each one of us!

In Psalm 33:12 we read,  “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people whom he has chosen as his heritage!”

“This is my Desire” performed by Hillsong

Prayer, Dear Lord, we repent for not having listened to Your Word, but instead having listened to the deceiver by following what this world tells us. Help us to come back to You individually and as a nation.  May our lives glorify You always, Amen
