We are being changed for His Glory!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our Loving Father’s Son, Jesus Christ, has bought us with His precious blood and His Holy Spirit is changing us, molding us and shaping us to glorify our God. We are being transformed and made perfect in Him as part of His chosen Church which will be Christ’s perfect bride at the end of times. What an amazing mystery that is!

In Ephesians 1:7 the Apostle Paul tells us, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,”

In Ephesians 5:25-32 the Apostle Paul tells us, ” 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church.”

Revelation 19:7 ” Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;”

Charles Spurgeon says in his devotional “Morning by Morning” that “Each individual believer is being prepared and polished and made ready for his place in the temple; but Christ’s own hand performs the preparation-work.  Afflictions cannot sanctify, except when they are used by Him to fulfill His purpose.  Our prayers and efforts cannot make us ready for heaven, apart from the hand of Jesus, who fashions our hearts correctly.”

“Grace and Peace” performed by Sovereign Grace

Prayer, My Lord and Savior, thank You for choosing us to be part of Your Church which is your eternal bride. What an amazing mystery that is!  We individually pray what the “Valley of Vision”devotional prays, ” Keep me ever mindful of my natural state, but let me not forget my heavenly title, or the grace that can deal with every sin.” In Your Holy name we pray, Amen

Jesus Christ our Redeemer

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Who are you trusting? With all the turmoils that happen in this fallen world, we cannot trust anyone besides our Loving Savior, Jesus Christ. We know that He lives and is just. He will never leave us nor forsake us, as we read in Hebrews 13:5b.  He will come back and reign forever more.  His kingdom will last forever as we read in Luke 1:33.

Jesus tells us in John 14:1 “. . . “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” In the book of Job 19:25 we read, ” For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.” The Scriptures are full of promises that show us we can fully trust Him.  He is in control and His plans are perfect. We really do not understand why things happen but we do know that we can trust Him so do not despair and keep looking to Him who loves You and is able to save You.

“I will Glory in My Redeemer” performed by Sovereign Grace

Prayer, Let us pray for each other the following prayer from  Ephesians 3:14-21 “14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faiththat you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen

Psalm 45

Psalm 45 is a A Maskil of the Sons of Korah; a love song. Doing an internet search about what a Maskil Psalm is, I found out that it means “Skillful, Poetic, or Didactic Psalm.”  It  also means “enlightenment.”

A. R. Fausset’s  commentary on Psalm 45 says that “it gives instruction, the song being of allegorical, and not literal, import. The union and glories of Christ and his Church are described. He is addressed as a king possessed of all essential graces, as a conqueror exalted on the throne of a righteous and eternal government, and as a bridegroom arrayed in nuptial splendor. The Church is portrayed in the purity and loveliness of a royally adorned and attended bride, invited to forsake her home and share the honors of her affianced lord.”

Let us read part of this amazing psalm.  I encourage you to read it fully in your Bible, letting His loving Word speak to you.

1 My heart overflows with a pleasing theme;
I address my verses to the king;
my tongue is like the pen of a ready scribe.
2 You are the most handsome of the sons of men;
grace is poured upon your lips;
therefore God has blessed you forever.
3 Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one,
in your splendor and majesty!
4 In your majesty ride out victoriously
for the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness;
let your right hand teach you awesome deeds!
5 Your arrows are sharp
in the heart of the king’s enemies;
the peoples fall under you.
6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever.
The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of uprightness;
7 you have loved righteousness and hated wickedness.
Therefore God, your God, has anointed you
with the oil of gladness beyond your companions;
8 your robes are all fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia.
From ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad;

It continues on verse 13,

13 All glorious is the princess in her chamber, with robes interwoven with gold.
14 In many-colored robes she is led to the king,
with her virgin companions following behind her.
15 With joy and gladness they are led along
as they enter the palace of the king.

Charles Spurgeon wrote about our Savior, “Not one feature in His glorious person attracts attention at the expense of others: but He is perfectly and altogether lovely. . . all the glories of heaven and earth meet in You and unite so perfectly that there is no one like You in all things.”

Prayer,  Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, You are our eternal Husband, You have bought us with Your precious blood and are preparing a place for us, Your Church, as your betrothed. What an amazing mystery this is, thank You!  May our lives glorify You always until that amazing day when we meet You face to face.  Praising You always, Amen

A Call to Persevere

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We live in very difficult times!   But our Loving Lord calls us to persevere! No matter what happens in this fallen world remember that He always reigns!  Praise HIM!

In Jude 1: 17-23 we read,

A Call to Persevere
“17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18 They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19 It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. 20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21 keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22 And have mercy on those who doubt; 23 save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh.”

“Our God Reigns”

Prayer, Dear Lord, please forgive us for not walking in You!  Please help us and show us how to walk in You on a moment by moment basis.  Help us to love others as You love them.  we are waiting for You my Love!  In Your precious name we pray, Amen

Prayer, Dear Lord, thank You for all those that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  May they never be forgotten and may we always be thankful. We pray now for their families, please bless them immensely! We thank You Lord, Amen

Worship Him

Brothers and Sisters,

All the worries and cares of this fallen world that try to pull us away from our “First Love,” should instead bring us back to Him in worship because He truly is the better way! This world is passing away quickly but He remains forever!

King David wrote Psalm 8 which helps us worship our Lord by reminding us how majestic He truly is! Let us read it and meditate on these wonderful words,

1 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?
5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,
7 all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!

“How Majestic is Your Name” written by Michael W. Smith

Prayer, Oh Sweet Lord, please forgive us for being so preoccupied with the cares of this world instead of worshipping You.  We are bombarded with attractions and silliness that make our lives more complicated rather than the simplicity found in You.  Help us keep our eyes on You as we worship You! This we pray Lord, Amen

Be in Awe of Your Lord

Brothers and Sisters,

Let us all stand in awe of Him who has given us so much, starting with His Son. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

He has created us and all His creation for His glory!

In Psalm 8:3-4 King David writes, “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?

In Psalm 33:6-9 we read, “6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,
and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea as a heap;
he puts the deeps in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the Lord;
let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him!
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.”

He has done so much, He continues to do so much and He will do for us so much! There really are no words that can truly express our gratitude!

“I Stand in Awe of You”

Prayer, Psalm 25:4-5 “4 Make me to know your ways, O Lord;
teach me your paths. 5 Lead me in your truth and teach me,
for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long” Help me to be in marveled by You every second of my life. Help me to love You more and more each day until the day You call me Home!  Praising You Sweet Lord, Amen

Jesus Christ the Wisdom and Power of God

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In Hebrews 4:12 we read, “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” We ought to be studying His Word and learning to discern between His wisdom and this falling world’s the wisdom. Lord please forgive us for not having been faithful.

Let us read what the Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 1:18-31,

18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written,

“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; 28 God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, 29 so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. 30 And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 so that, as it is written, “Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”

“I Boast no More” written by Isaac Watts-Music by Sandra McCracken

Prayer, Dearest Lord Jesus Christ, You are to us God’s wisdom, but instead we continue to choose the world’s wisdom which leads us astray. Oh Lord please forgive us, we are so foolish by continuing to believe the lies of this world and boast about them!  Thank You so much for Your Holy Spirit who always guides us towards You.  May we be in Your Word every day to learn more and more what Your will for us is so that our lives always glorify You.  May we boast in You only! Please help us to trust You always precious Lord, Amen

Submit yourselves to God

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Our loving Lord calls us to flee from sin by submitting to Him.  In James 4:7 we read, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Remember that we cannot do it on our own, we can only do this by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 the Apostle Paul says,

12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are helpful. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. 13 “Food is meant for the stomach and the stomach for food”—and God will destroy both one and the other. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 And God raised the Lord and will also raise us up by his power. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

“Where I Belong” by Jaci Velasquez

Prayer, Dear Lord, there are no words to thank You for all the provisions You have made for us to be able to be victorious over sin, the world and Satan. Thank You for Your forgiveness and love.  We pray that our lives glorify You always until You call us home to be with You for eternity.  We love You Sweet Father! In Your precious name we pray, Amen

I am always amazed at our God’s creation. Thank You dear Lord for how You have given us so many wonderful things to enjoy in this word! And thank You for Your Word that remind us of what You have done and what You will do. The book of psalms help us a great deal to learn to admire His loving creation. King David wrote in Psalm 8:3-4 “When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?“
